HOUSTON — The Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics collectively walked off the sphere following a second of silence, draping a Black Lives Subject T-shirt throughout house plate as they selected to not play on Friday evening.

The verdict got here on Jackie Robinson Day around the majors, and within the wake of 29-year-old Jacob Blake, a Black guy, being shot through police in Wisconsin over the weekend.

All gamers, managers and coaches at Minute Maid Park had been dressed in No. 42, the jersey quantity Robinson wore when he broke the foremost league colour barrier in 1947.
