Primary League Baseball plans to prolong its annual draft no less than one month to July.
ESPN reported the draft could be shortened with bonuses deferred because of uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus.
MLB and the Gamers Affiliation are engaged in talks that would scale back the draft to between 5 and 10 rounds, ESPN reported. Signing bonuses with a small prematurely cost and bigger quantities due in July 2021 and July 2022, are deliberate for the deferral of bonuses.
The No. 1 pick out within the 2019 draft used to be Oregon State catcher Adley Rutchsman, who signed for $eight.1 million, a report baseball bonus.
All 2020 undrafted avid gamers would have a most signing bonus of $10,000, in step with the record.
The 2019 draft used to be held June Three-Five and had 40 overall rounds.
